ABQ Clinical Trials New Principal Investigators
Albuquerque Clinical Trials is excited to announce the addition of our 2 new Principal Investigators, Dr. Marigene Salazar Sharma and Dr. Ellen Kim. Check out their biographies below as well as our newest studies.
I was raised in Los Alamos and am in love with New Mexico: the food, the mountains, cliffs and canyons, and cultural diversity. I completed medical school in 1994 and became board certified in Family Practice in 1997. From 2000 to 2005 I had the privilege of working here at Rio Grande Family Medicine and ACT. After that I spent 5 years in California as 1st assistant in spine surgery. The next 7 years were back in New Mexico making house calls and caring for hospice patients. I’ve enjoyed every aspect of medicine in locations from Copper Canyon in Mexico to the Aleutian Islands in Alaska but I missed clinical research. Its wonderful to work at ACT again with their experienced research coordinators and wonderful staff!
I am a native New Mexican who has been practicing medicine with a specialty in internal medicine for 14 years. I received my undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of New Mexico. My residency was also completed at the University of New Mexico Hospital’s internal medicine department. After finishing my residency, I moved to Las Vegas, NV where I worked in private practice for 9 years. When I am not seeing patients in the clinic, I enjoys camping, cooking, hiking and spending time with my husband and 2 wonderful sons, Diego and Anthony. If you ever get on my bad side, you can always make it up to me with some delicious nut free chocolate or vanilla tootsie rolls!
