Hidradenitis Suppurativa is a skin disease of the hair follicles in places where the skin rubs together, like the armpits, groin, buttocks and breasts. It causes pain and inflammation in the affected areas. Risk factors include smoking, family history, obesity, age and gender. Women between the ages of 18-29 are more likely to develop the disease.
